EODL One-Act Play Festival

November, 2003

Curtain up, light the lights, we've got nothing to hit but the heights. And hit the heights we did at the Eastern Ontario Drama League One-Act Festival held in Brighton, Ontario November 7 - 9, 2003.

Competing with 8 other community theatre groups from Eastern Ontario, the Mudds entered their tour de force production of "The Ballad of the Battle Between Power and Chance" by Drew Carwath - about a weeping statue of the Virgin Mary which forces Father Power to close the doors of his church and re-open the doors to his faith....until he meets a troubled woman asleep in the pews...and on the run from something unspeakable.

Adjudicator Sandy Mcdonald singled out the incredible performances of Christine Sacks as Chance and Eric Madore as Father Power, presenting Christine with the Colin Mawson Award for Outstanding Student and Eric with the Pauline Grant Award given for an outstanding principal performance.

Asking her to please, please direct again, Mr. Mcdonald presented Jeannie Bright with the Penny Arril Award, an adjudicator's award given to a novice director. The team was completed by Norma Cummings on Lights, Dustin Walther on Sound and Sandy Richards as Stage Manager.
